Web Tutorials: Anything you need to know
Mouse

You can learn anything about anything on the web. Want to bake a cake or make a bomb? It's all there for you. And there's a lot of great practical stuff that can help you understand your computer and the Internet.

Microsoft took a step forward with the introduction of their Office 2007. Much of it will feel the same as the older versions and you can continue to use it intuitively, but much will have changed. One of the changes, of course, was a change in the underlying computer language which the user will mostly perceive to be a four digit file extension (for instance, .docx instead of .doc). The advantages you won't perceive intuitively are things you need to be told about—either by a knowledgeable friend or by taking a course. Or, you could simply find a free, on-line tutorial like THIS ONE and learn as much or as little as you like.

There are many more tutorials available at Internet 4 Classrooms and their subjects range from Microsoft to Macintosh, with a whole gamut of other topics thrown in.

If you need to know more about any kind of software you only need to go to Google (or your favourite search engine) and type in "xxx tutorials"—remembering, of course, to substitute the topic you want in place of the xxx. So, if you wanted to know how to use Thunderbird (Mozilla's e-mail software) you would type in "thunderbird tutorials". Mostly it doesn't matter too much if you use all lower case characters in the search box.
