Born in the Netherlands, Hedi migrated to Australia in 1955 as a very young bride. Six years later she and her family moved to Penrith.
After losing her husband in 1989 she joined the U3A Chifley Chapter at its inaugural meeting later that year. She served on the committee from 1991-1995 and is presently Vice-President—Nepean.
Hedi has brought her varied talents and experience to U3A. She has tutored in Communications, Aboriginal Studies and, for the past two years, Philosophy.
Her other interests include studying, reading, socialising, discussion groups, and travelling. She also enjoys Australia's outdoor life.
Hedi's 2009 Philosophy course will comprise two classes each Friday—the first from 9.30 to 10.00 and the second from 11.00 to 12 noon.
The class is an interactive group which considers how important ideas keep influencing our daily lives, and the decisions that we make.
