Royal Treatment For Your Dog

If you've had problems finding a boarding kennel to take good care of your dog while you go tripping about this wide, brown land, you will be interested in my experience with Royal Rover Kennels at Bringelly.

Lynne and I have been boarding our Chihuahua-Jack Russell cross there for about seven years now and were very happy with both the facilities and the owners. Early in 2009 the kennel was sold and we were a little concerned that the very high level of care might not be maintained by the new owners.

We had nothing to worry about!

We just spent two wonderful weeks at Burrill Lake and, the day we were due to come home, the rains came.  You'll recall the torrential rain that caused all the flooding on the North Coast.  That was the day we drove home. On the way to collect Zoe we thought of wrapping her in Lynne's jacket to minimise the amount of mud she'd spread over the upholstery, and over us. We'd picked her up after rain before and were used to bathing her as soon as we got home. On this occasion, it wasn't necessary. She had just been bathed and was sparkling clean. Not only that, the bed and blankets we had left with her (beds are provided but Zoe likes her own) had also been washed. It was a pleasant surprise.

Fees are reasonable and the facilities are great.

The kennel is divided into three sections—one each for small, medium and large dogs. Each dog has it's individual enclosure plus a larger shared yard where they can be allowed to run freely or, if they are compatible with the other boarders, can play together.

Royal Rover is operated by Deb and Matt, two people I happily trust to look after the dog. You can learn about them, and about their facilities, on their web site.
